🚀 Welcome to Code AREA! 

It is a hybrid (virtual & offline) hackathon, introducing Areon Network to Web3 developers around the world.  Developers with any level of experience can participate in this journey to:     

  • acquire new skills,    
  • collaborate with a community of developers,    
  • find mentors to learn from,    
  • compete for a prize pool obtain grants for their project

Prize Structure

🗣️ The hackathon offers a total prize pool of $500,000 including cash prizes, grants, benefits and more. Cash prizes go up to 10,000 USDT for each track. In addition to cash prizes, winners will receive grants, mainnet launch support, global marketing, mentorship, community support, and opportunities for partnerships with sponsors and VC launchpad support.

    February 2, 2024, is the deadline for applications.

  • Who can participate in the code area hackathon?

    The Code AREA Hackathon is open to developers, engineers, and enthusiasts of all experience levels worldwide who are older than 18 years old. Whether you're a beginner or an expert in the field of Web3, blockchain, or related technologies, you're welcome to participate and contribute your unique skills and ideas.

  • What are the main tracks (competition categories) of the hackathon?

    There are three Web3, NFT & Gaming; Tools, Apps & Infrastructure; and DeFi & DAOs. We will also rank projects for student quota and community favorite. More can be found on the hackathon website.

  • What are the judging criteria for the projects?

    Projects will be judged based on their authenticity, creativity, user experience, technical feasibility, and potential for scalability and commercial viability. These criteria ensure that the projects not only showcase innovative ideas but are also practical and have the potential to make a significant impact.

  • Are there any requirements for project submissions?

    - Projects must be built for or adapted to the Areon Network ecosystem.
    - The repositories can be close-sourced during the hackathon but must be open-sourced after submission.
    - Projects must comply with legal and IP rights, and be in English or perfectly translated into English.
    - They must run consistently on the intended platform and integrate third-party SDKs or APIs with proper authorization.
    - Projects must be available for testing by Areon Network, sponsors, and judges until the end of the judging period.

  • How does intellectual property work for submissions?

    All submissions remain the intellectual property of the creators. By participating, you grant a non-exclusive license to Areon Network to use the submission for the duration of the event and three years thereafter. This allows Areon Network to showcase your work while ensuring that you retain ownership of your project.
